About our refrigerant leak detection & recharge service

Refrigerant doesn't get used up, if you're low, there's a leak. We use electronic and UV-dye leak detection to find it, seal or replace the failed component, and recharge with the correct amount of R-410A or R-32 by weight (not by gauge guess).

Leaks near the lake behave differently. Salt-free but sand-heavy air off Lake Simcoe wears the condenser coil at the fin-tube joints, so shoreline homes in Big Bay Point and Gilford leak outdoors far more often than at the indoor coil. Inland, in Alcona and the Barrie south end, we find more evaporator leaks caused by formicary corrosion from indoor cleaning products. We locate the leak with electronic detection and nitrogen pressure testing before adding refrigerant, because topping up a known leak is throwing money at the atmosphere.
